Yesterday we talked about taking 30 minutes a day to exercise. Today the Tip is this: Relax

Yes, it’s good to go out and do some exercise to reduce that stress, but taking time to relax is equally as important.

What do I mean by relax?

Take a vacation. Studies show that if you take a vacation it can definitely reduce stress; it can reduce hypertension; they have linked all kinds of conditions back to people who don’t take the time to go on vacation.

I’ve also told you guys in the past…take thinking time! Take 15, or 20, or 30 minutes a day where you just let the mind go free. Let it rest, and let it go free on it’s on “playground” and just let it do what it wants to do.

Or it could be something as simple as just spending some down time with the people that you love…the people that make you smile…the people that make you happy. And do something with them that’s “off task”.

Like…don’t get with your kids and say, “Hey, I love you guys! Let’s clean the house!” Take the kids out and just go for a walk, or play a game with them. Do something that’s fun and relaxing, and that’s going to calm your spirits, it’s going to give you some down time, and it will also give the mind a rest, so that when it needs to be turned “on” it will be on point and you’ll have the mental acuity that you need.
