Welcome back to 90 with Nate!
Today’s question came from Jim in Tucson, Arizona.
Jim asks, “Nate, what is your biggest business regret?”
Jim, I think sometimes that we learn more from our failures than we do from our successes.
I can say that I can sum up my biggest business regrets in my network marketing career in this statement: “I didn’t follow my heart.”
There were times I signed up in companies that I just did it because my buddy did it, and my heart wasn’t really in it. I probably should have saved the money and also what little time I invested there, and just had nothing to do with it at all.
There were some other times when I wanted to make a big run! I saw somebody that I knew and believed in and had a good relationship with go make a big run with a company, and I missed that run because I didn’t follow my heart and pull the trigger to get started.
But I think that probably the biggest mistakes that I made in not following my heart, were on two occasions when I stayed with companies longer than I should have when I knew with everything in my being that it was time to hit the eject button and to get out of there!
In these two situations I stayed for my team. I didn’t want to rock the boat. I had so many relationships with good people…people that I loved and cared about, and I just didn’t want to shake the boat too much and rippled the waters for their sakes.
What I should have done was just gone ahead and pulled the trigger and got out of there as soon as my heart told me that I was done!
So, the greatest business mistake that I’ve made in my 20+ year career in network marketing was not following my heart and going with what my gut was telling me to do.
