Welcome back to 90 with Nate!
Today we have sort of a two part question that we’re going to address, because two people asked me almost the same thing.
Jean in Florida asked me, “Nate, what book has impacted you the most?”
I can tell you far and away…beyond the shadow of any doubt…the #1 book that has impacted my life in every way that I could possibly communicate to you…has been The Bible.
The Bible has been my guide spiritually. I’ve learned so much about relationships through The Bible. I’ve learned a lot of history through The Bible. I’ve learned a lot about money through The Bible. I’ve learned about leadership skills by reading the Bible.
It has by far been the #1 most impactful book on my life.
But Shannon in Tennessee (she probably knew just from following me that I would say The Bible) asked the question: “Nate, other than The Bible, what would be your go-to resource?”
And I think that go-to resource for me would have to be the book How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Very interesting to me, this book.
I’ve talked to a lot of people in our industry who will through that book out as one of their favorites. And when I began to discuss the book, I find out that they haven’t even read all the way through the book. Usually they’ve just read a little bit at the beginning, and then kind of flipped through it…but they haven’t really ingested the volume that’s available to them there.
I think that inter-personal skills…being able to relate to other people in a way that is really significant and that puts a high value on those people…is one of the most important things that you can do if you want to add tremendous value into the marketplace, and therefore reap a really large return.
And so, other than The Bible, I would recommend that read again and again and again and again: How to Win Friends and Influence People.
