Proverbs 14 verse 7 says this: Stay away from fools, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.

Now, I like to think I’m a pretty good guy; and one of my short comings in the past has been that sometimes I’ll let people talk longer than I really want to listen.

I’m on the phone…or I’m sitting over a cup of coffee…and they go on their little rants. A lot of times I’m listening and I’m hearing a lack of wisdom in what it is they’re doing with their life or the direction they’re going, and I’ll just let them go on and talk because I don’t want to interrupt; I don’t want to be unkind; I don’t want to be unfriendly.

And many of you that are watching this video are the exact same way! lol

You’ll have a friend or a family member…that certain person that’s coming to your mind right now as you’re watching this…and you know that there’s not a tremendous amount of wisdom there, and you just let them talk.

Here’s the problem: Not only is it wasting your time, but now the foolishness of their life and their paradigm is being sown like seeds into your mindset.

And so I’m going to encourage you: you’re going to have to find a way to take those situations captive, and say, “Hey…gee…I’ve really enjoyed the time and it’s been great catching up. But I really do need to go!”

And just get away from those people as quickly as you can. Not because they’re bad people. You can still love them. Just love them in limited quantities of time, and get away from that negativity.

You don’t want that foolishness in your brain.
