Welcome back to 90 with Nate!

Wendy in Georgia writes, “My company is 100% against me branding myself, and only wants me to promote my company (MLM). What should I do?”

This is a great question, Wendy, because a lot of network marketers are faced with this in this age of social media marketing. Our companies want us to give them all the social media love. They don’t want us branding ourselves because they are afraid of that.

Understand that for some of them it’s a policies and procedures issue. But for most of them it’s a fear factor! They are afraid that if you get big enough…maybe even bigger than their brand with your friends, and your family, and your circle of influence, that you would have enough influence to possible pull people away from their company.

Here’s what I would do if I were you, if I were part of a company that said that you could not promote yourself: I personally would run as far away from that company as I possibly could!

And if that is not an option for you…if you are totally vested where you are and you love what you’re doing…then you’re going to have to play by the rules.

As for me, I wouldn’t play by those rules. I would hit the eject button, and I would go become part of a company that did not mind me promoting myself and my own ability to think and to feel and to come up with my own great content.

So, you do what’s best for you, Wendy! But those are my thoughts on working with a company that does not want you to promote yourself.
